Beisel was also taken to the hospital with \u201csuperficial stab wounds to her neck and arms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said she had been bathing her son in a plastic storage bin inside a walk-in shower when she stepped away to grab soap \u2014 and returned to find him face down in the bin, according to the Placentia Police Department.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThe mother began CPR, and when she determined that her CPR was ineffective, the mother harmed herself with a sharp object,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Beisel \u201cstayed in the bathroom with the child for approximately 6 hours\u201d before the child\u2019s father found them and called 911.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, four other children \u2014 all in their early to mid-teens \u2014 also lived in the home, the Orange County Register reported.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Police responded to Beisel\u2019s home in Placentia to find her in the shower \u201cwith the water running with the body of her two-year-old son, Aidan,\u201d on September 22, 2025, prosecutors said. <span class=\"credit\">KNBC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Beisel was initially taken into custody following her discharge from the hospital on charges of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse causing great bodily injury.<\/p>\n<p>The toddler\u2019s death was initially investigated as a drowning.<\/p>\n<p>However, the District Attorney\u2019s Office said a subsequent investigation \u201cruled out drowning as the cause of death for the otherwise healthy two-year-old and determined the manner of death to be homicide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beisel had relocated to Coarsegold in Madera County after her son\u2019s death, but investigators tracked her down and re-arrested her for his murder on June 4.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Beisel was initially taken into custody following her discharge from the hospital on charges of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse causing great bodily injury. <span class=\"credit\">KNBC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer condemned the killing as \u201ca depravity which we will never be able to fully comprehend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA mother is a child\u2019s first protector. For a mother to use the very arms that are meant to shield her child from harm to instead physically extinguish the life of a child she created is a depravity which we will never be able to fully comprehend,\u201d Spitzer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe death of a child is a grief that can never be explained and a grief that can never be healed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beisel is currently held without bail at the Orange County Jail and was charged with one felony count of murder and one felony count of assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death.<\/p>\n<p>She is due in court June 30 for arraignment at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
