Some have no civic experience. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first time in village history no one will be on the ballot, a village official confirmed. <\/p>\n<p>Minicozzi even said he would keep serving if he got the most votes, Bayville Chamber of Commerce head Vincent Moscato told The Post. The mayor did not return a message from The Post seeking comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Moscato said up to eight candidates have expressed interest participating in a mayoral forum with at least four who are definitely expected to appear. <\/p>\n<p>Trustee Anne Walsh said she was shocked no one decided to run until it was too late to have their name printed.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Nassau County community doesn\u2019t have a mayoral candidate on the ballot.  <span class=\"credit\">Bayville, New York \/ Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s disappointing now because everyone is saying how they want to do it, and I don\u2019t know why they didn\u2019t want to do\u00a0it ahead of time,\u201d said the longtime resident whose parents were also involved in the village.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Walsh, who is running for reelection to keep her trustee seat, called it \u201cunsettling we\u2019re at this point,\u201d in which someone could slide into office even if they aren\u2019t ready for the demanding gig. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Resident Kathy Notaro said she predicted chaos when Election Day comes next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI honestly don\u2019t know what to expect,\u201d the 44-year resident said. \u201cSomebody could get 50 people to vote for them and now they\u2019re mayor? It doesn\u2019t make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her son, Chris, found the entire situation more nefarious. He thinks this is a dirty play by village government to hand-pick the next mayor.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mayor Steve Minicozzi. opted not to file petitions to run for reelection.  <span class=\"credit\">The Incorporated Village of Bayville<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crony politics,\u201d he argued. \u201cFrom the village, the little league, the school board, everything \u2014 that\u2019s the story with this town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Finn, who has lived in Bayville most of his life, said most members of his 80-member fishing club were considering writing in their group\u2019s president\u2019s name for mayor. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He joked he might even back someone not old enough to drive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a little kid in my fishing club, he\u2019s a good little business person, we always kid that he should run for mayor,\u201d the 68-year-old said.<\/p>\n<p>The candidates\u2019 forum will be held Tuesday at the Crescent Beach Club at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!-- \u603b\u5bb9\u5668\uff1a\u6700\u5927\u5bbd908px Grid\u7d27\u51d1\u5e03\u5c40 -->\r\n<div style=\"display: grid;
