So that puts things on a whole different level. I mean, Joe will have to live with cancer for the rest of his life, which means he\u2019s on special medicines.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>President Joe Biden embraces first lady Jill Biden after his presidential debate against President Donald Trump on June 27, 2024. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She said he also\u00a0went through radiation, which involved going from where they live in Delaware to Philadelphia constantly for five weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, it takes a toll,\u201d she said, adding that on Friday night her husband was in South Dakota for a\u00a0Democratic Party\u00a0event, on Saturday he was at a friend\u2019s wedding, and Sunday he\u2019ll be in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe keeps his schedule, but he\u2019s slowed down,\u201d she said. \u201cI mean, stage four cancer is \u2014 and he\u2019s 83 \u2014 so, I think the mix of everything and the medications that he\u2019s taken has made life a little more difficult these days.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Jill Biden appeared on \u201cThe View\u201d and gave an update on ex-President Joe Biden\u2019s cancer diagnosis on June 2, 2026. <span class=\"credit\">The View\/YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When asked how she\u2019s been handling the situation, Biden said: \u201cIt\u2019s hard to be a caretaker,\u201d noting that the former president wouldn\u2019t want her to phrase it that way, but explaining that she\u2019s the one responsible for all the details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>I have to make sure he gets the right medications,\u201d she explained. \u201cI\u2019m the one talking to the doctors. I\u2019m the one setting up the appointments.
