Alamo Drafthouse made \u201cNo Talking, No Texting\u201d the Law of The Land. Nay, a Constitutional Amendment. Nay! We want the scratch of a tiny pen on a recycled slip of paper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davy warned that patrons might be tempted to use their phones to text during screenings \u2013 contradicting what writer-director Ryan Coogler warned in a promo.<\/p>\n<p>He branded cell phone use the first of the \u201cdeadly sins\u201d in the cinema.<\/p>\n<p>Alamo has been known for pumping out hundreds of ads warning customers not to use their cell phones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a profound and upsetting mistake,\u201d \u201cLord of the Rings\u201d star Elijah Wood wrote on X.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Alamo Drafthouse\u2019s new policy forces film fans to order from their phones while the movie is playing. <span class=\"credit\">Andy Kropa\/Invision\/AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cinema-goers have already complained about the new ordering procedure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took my friend last night who hadn\u2019t been in a while and he hate HATED the QR code ordering.
