I\u00a0go\u00a0back to the\u00a0fee\u00a0and it was incredible value for money.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Ex-Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney also heaped praise on departing Liverpool legend Robertson, adding: &#8216;When you think about Liverpool when they had Andy Robertson on one side and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the other, they were an absolute nightmare to play against.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Jordan Henderson gets a lot of praise for being the leader\u00a0in that great Liverpool team as captain but I think players like Robertson were a massive part of that off the pitch as well.&#8217;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/GettyImages-2277471878.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28505519\" alt=\"Liverpool v Brentford - Premier League\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Mohamed Salah also had an emotional farewell (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Robertson was given a standing ovation and surrounded by his team-mates when he was subbed off during Liverpool&#8217;s final-day draw with Brentford.<\/p>\n<p>On the reception he received, Robertson said: &#8216;These guys come and support us every single week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;ve been here nine years and we&#8217;ve played in front of a sell-out crowd at Anfield and full away ends every game.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I&#8217;m emotionally drained. It&#8217;s been a busy week trying to keep your emotions in check and saying bye to those you need to say bye to.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;In years to come, we know we&#8217;re both [Mohamed Salah] welcome back to this football club. This is a big chapter in our book, but it&#8217;s not the end.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;First and foremost, we have to switch off and focus on the World Cup.
