wp-block-nypost-editor-partner-article-links\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>NOAA\u2019s Storm Prediction Center has issued a rare Level 4 out of 5\u00a0risk of severe thunderstorms\u00a0for parts of\u00a0Kansas\u00a0and southeastern\u00a0Nebraska, with violent EF-3+\u00a0tornadoes\u00a0being the main threat. <\/p>\n<p>While parts of the Central Plains and the\u00a0Midwest\u00a0are in the bull\u2019s-eye of storms that are expected to fire beginning early Monday afternoon, a broader\u00a0severe weather\u00a0threat covers more than 80 million people across a 1,000-mile corridor from North\u00a0Texas\u00a0to western\u00a0New York.<\/p>\n<p>This potential outbreak follows severe weather that barreled through the Central Plains and Midwest over the weekend, which produced several tornadoes, including a Tornado Emergency in Nebraska, as well as large hail and damaging wind gusts.<\/p>\n<p>The highest risk of tornadoes will be early to mid Monday afternoon, as severe weather first develops, likely after 2 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n<p>Supercell thunderstorms capable of generating violent,\u00a0long-track tornadoes\u00a0(EF-3+) and softball-sized hail will be possible across Central and northeastern Kansas, including Wichita.<\/p>\n<p>However, if thunderstorms form as a group instead of lone supercells, it would limit twister intensity and development.<\/p>\n<p>The FOX Forecast Center also highlighted cool air left behind by morning rain as a factor that could limit the intensity of storms on Monday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While tornadoes will still be possible, the threat northern\u00a0Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>By nighttime, storms are expected to organize into a line, and damaging wind gusts up to 75 mph will become the main hazard.<\/p>\n<p>Across parts of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, storms will fire along a cold front beginning Monday afternoon and lasting through the evening.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter parts of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan, including the Milwaukee and Chicago metro areas.<\/p>\n<p>Severe storms are expected to persist into the overnight hours on Tuesday as a wall of class=\"wp-block-heading\">Severe weather threat pushes into Tuesday<\/h2>\n<p>As storms continue into Tuesday, severe storms will expand into the\u00a0Ohio\u00a0Valley, where a Level 2 threat has
